Communities across Hawaiʻi are recovering from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Lala and Hurricane Lowell, which caused widespread flooding, damage, and disruption for thousands of families.
Hurricane Lala
- Vibrant Hawaiʻi is supporting Hawaiʻi Island residents through a dedicated Lala resource hub and by coordinating the distribution of food and supplies to impacted communities.
- The Food Basket Inc. is coordinating emergency food distributions and partnering with the Hawaii National Guard to deliver nonperishable, ready-to-eat meals to isolated residents in need.
- Hawaiian Council (formerly known as Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement) established the Kākoʻo Mai Relief Fund to provide flexible support for immediate relief, long-term recovery, and evolving community needs related to the tropical storms.
Hurricane Lowell
- Hawaiʻi Foodbank Kauaʻi is coordinating food distribution sites across the island and providing emergency food assistance to residents affected by extended power outages.
- The American Red Cross, is operating emergency shelters for Kauaʻi residents, offering evacuees food, showers, supplies, pet support, and connections to recovery resources.
- The Salvation Army, Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division, is distributing meals and emergency supplies at Kauaʻi refuge areas while coordinating food support for affected residents and first responders.
