by The Salvation Army: Western Territory

A dangerous wildfire continues to burn near the city of Redding, CA in Shasta County. Locations include the evacuation center at Shasta College (11555 Old Oregon Trail, Redding, CA 96003), Cross Point Community Church (2960 Hartnell Ave, Redding, CA 96002) and Weaverville Elementary School (31020 CA-3, Weaverville, CA 96093). An additional five Salvation Army personnel are arriving today from Bremerton, WA to assist.

In addition to providing emotional and spiritual care, The Salvation Army teams have served over 20,000 meals to evacuees and first responders since July 27th. The teams continue to monitor the situation and will place personnel where they are most needed.
